I had delicious chargrilled chicken that had been marinated in calamansi and cooked to perfection. My fiance had Filipino barbeque pork, served on skewers with fruits and vegetables. The meat was utterly amazing... perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the sauce was a delightful complement with a salty vinegar flavor. We finished our meal with a scoop of jackfruit ice cream, a mildly fruity and not-too-sweet dessert. The chef, Mark, came to check on our meal and chat for a bit. All in all it was an amazing dining experience.
My very first impression when I first visited the restaurant was that I was amazed. The atmosphere that it brings you makes you think that you're in a high class restaurant in the Philippines. Food is awesome! Especially coming from a great soul of a chef who wants to introduce Filipino food to a whole new level. Chef Marc is such a humble host that left such a great impression for me and my friends. That resulted in me coming in for the second time where I got to celebrate my 25th Birthday! It was everything you could think of! The positive vibes, the great music, awesome food, great staff, and most of all humble hosts! Totally recommend this restaurant for everyone!
Filipino BBQ chicken was one of the best I have ever had. Super impressed with food, drinks, decor and service. Would highly recommend!
The fix prix was amazing! So great we ordered additional bbq before dessert! The atmosphere is the best of any Filipino restaurant in Toronto the staff are amazing and so attentive! I will be coming back when I’m back in town next!
I love seeing Philippine cuisine elevated in my city. Islas brings presentation, service, ambience, creativity and of course, the flavours...Big fan of the entrée I tried; delicately fried pork belly in a peanut based sauce w/ eggplant green beans served with a side of white rice. Innovative take on a classic dish. In many places, you'll find the sauce too heavy, too salty or lack seasoning. Islas' dish had the right balance for me.
