Kanga - Toronto

Kanga was a 2 minute walk from where we stayed on vacation. We decided to try it out due to the good reviews and we were not disappointed. The pies are small but filling. The service was good.

Yum! This place is near my work and I've had people bring me gift meat pies...lucky me. The pies are delicious, flakey pastry, savoury fillings, the stuff food dreams are made of. We stopped by today on the way back from "The Book of Morman" to pick up some pies for take away. I had the pepper steak and my wife the ground beef, both rich and filling. I've never actually eaten there, it's tiny, counter + stools. The pies are great, don't miss this Aussie delicacy.

Sono stata a mangiare una pie oggi nello store di gerrard street. ero emozionatissima perchè quando ero in nuova zelanda mangiavo sempre le meat pies e dopo un anno cominciavo a sentirmi in astinenza! ho scelto la canadian pie, con pezzi di bistecca e bacon, ma in realtà la carne era affogata nella gravy, non sono rimasta soddisfatta soprattutto dopo aver speso quasi 8$ per una pie che in nuova zelanda mi sarebbe costata 3 o 4 dollari. la carne (quella poca che c'era) era molto buona comunque! e anche la pasta sfoglia era molto buona. sono rimasta un pò male per la scarsa quantità di carne e il prezzo elevato della pie.

I loved this place when it first opened and often purchased frozen pies to take home. Recently visited and took home frozen pies. The quality (and quantity) of the meat and poultry was awful - tough and not enough. Nowhere near as good as it was, say a year ago.

Some of the best pies I've ever had. I visited their Sun Life location in downtown Toronto. Had the pepper steak and butter chicken pies and both were amazing!!
