Local Public Eatery - Toronto

The Local is a great neighbourhood pub. The service is great and so is the food. The fish tacos are the rally good!

High tables, industrial look in an old bank building what more can you ask for. Fast friendly service. Good selection of beer and wine. Food came out fast and hot. Good portion sizes. Can be a bit noisy and crowded. Not great for an cozy dinner but great for getting together with friends and family. A few TVs spread around to watch the game.

Had visited this resturant before with mixed revieeeach time. This time it wad awful. The staff wad made aware of a person who needed the elevators to the 2nd floor due to the unavailable seating on the first with the awful bar stools. She did not get the elevator and did sit and wait 20 minutes for someone to find out if her party was indeed on the 2nd floor. After this long and exhausting delay and climb she made it to 5he upstairs seating. We are a variety of items in which all were heavily salted The music was so loud it was difficult to hear each other. I am over the local eatery in this neighborhood. Make someone changes to the menu, get proper serving staff and never ever neglect your customer waiting at the door.

Went for a bite out. We like to go to different neighbourhoods , have always loved Leaside so off we went.The place looks great a repurposed factory space or large shop of some kind. There was a limited menu for food , but a nice selection of beer and wine. We didn't try the $5 glass of mystery wine but it is a nice idea.I had the Local burger and my wife had nachos. The burger was tasty enough and fresh made in house with a nice hot sauce/relish on it. The Nachos were not good. There was flavourless baked beans and the chips were burnt, didn't like them at all.It is called The Local and that was evident as the place got busier . We were welcomed and the staff was nice enough , so we may try again another time. The place looks great so if you like style over substance and want to take selfies, the backdrop would be great.

Popped in here for lunch with my wife. Very nice open plan, loads of beer to enjoy and n small but nice menu. Service was really good and the food also nice. Will go back and try some more of the menu items. Lovely outside patio for nice sunshine days.
