Locomotive consistently delivers excellent drip coffee, espresso and food. The sandwiches are perfectly balanced with fresh bread, excellent cuts of meat and just the right amount of sauce. Prices are very reasonable as well.
I go to this cafe at least once a day every day and I am surrounded by coffee shops/cafes including the top name brands. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere inviting and the coffee, sandwiches and soups delicious and made in house likely as healthy...More
I have eaten here on a few occasions. Locomotive is an unassuming coffee/sandwich shop in The Junction in west Toronto. You will find it on Dundas (roughly 3100 block) right across the street from Starbucks. This is a great place to have lunch, especially on a day when browsing through some of the interesting and eclectic shops of The Junction. The brisket sandwich can be a bit on the juicy side, but it is o so delicious. For 7.99 is is a large, hearty sandwich. They also have vegetarian and non-beef options as well.Locomotive has great tea, coffee, and desserts as well. The coffee is a real standout in this area, and that is saying a lot considering that there are lots of options in this area. If you like chocolate, they have a brownie that is muy delicioso. The service here is order and pay at the counter, then seat yourself. For the money, it is a reasonable value. The portions are generous and delicious.
Yummy. I've had this sandwich twice now -- take out (although there are tables and chairs to stay in at this funky coffee place in the junction). Everything about it is delicious -- the bun, the chicken, flavour, sauce, spice (although it could be a bit spicier). I want to try the brisket, pork and vegetable sandwiches next. Coffee's pretty darn good too. Enjoy!
