We had a lovely evening with my family at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the wine selection was great, and the service was perfect. The staff was attentive without being intrusive. I look forward to returning next year.
This restaurant is a nice place with good food, but it can be a bit pricey. I tried the pizza with truffle oil and it was delicious. My date enjoyed her pasta as well. The wine selection is a bit expensive, which seems to be common in Toronto restaurants. I wish they had more options without bacon, chicken, or mussels on the menu. Overall, the food was good but could use more variety.
Excellent atmosphere and service, with one condition. For a restaurant that has been in operation for 12 years, it was disappointing that the menu does not really appeal to food allergies. I have a sensitivity to gluten and there are few genuine gluten-free options. The manager I talked to my allergy, was more defensive about it than empathy that put a damper in the evening. I hope, given the number of food allergies that exist today, that more efforts will be made to make the corresponding changes in the menu. That said our server did everything to advise me about my best options.
L'Unita is a nice, local Italian eatery. Guests are greater by a very warm welcome, which makes you feel at home immediately. The selection of dishes is moderate, and everything we ordered was delicious. Service is first class all the way. However I've found the...restaurant a bit noisy. It's a fairly small room which was fully booked on Saturday evening. Conversation noise was high, plus the unnecessary background music, made it difficult to listen participate in our own table conversation.
