Mazz Japanese Bistro - Toronto

Our order for 4 people took over an hour to prepare. The soup and sashimi were both good. Sushi was ok. Teriyaki was not very good. It was not worth the exceptional wait.

Well received, pleasant service and great recommendations! Had the wakame salad, beef enoki mushroom roll (must try!), tako yaki, futomaki roll and one of their dragon rolls. Everything was quite tasty!

Just visited here for the first time this week. It has been open for around 2 years. The waitress was super friendly and accommodating. (we asked if she could turn the music down just a notch which was immediately adjusted) We had the Agi Dashi tofu and then the spicy salmon and avocado/cucumber rolls. there was much more to try, but of course there is only so much 2 can eat in one sitting :) Was nice to have the window seat and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

Supermarket maki with low quality fish, too ripe avocado, bring a knur for the lobster and else, nothing to compare with district bistrot was on same location.

I like walking this revamped Riverside neighbourhood, Queen Street East, east of the Don Valley Parkway. There are so many nice restaurants. Due to very good reviews on Tripadvisor and the fact I love Japanese food, I tried this place with my wife. I was surprised that the restaurant was not busy on a Friday Night. There were some customers on the patio at the back of the restaurant but no one else inside the establishment. Well the service was very friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic. The miso soup and salad that is common at many Japanese restaurants was better here compared to almost all Japanese restaurants I've been to. Very slight different flavour indicating to me it wasn't just a powder miso mix. The gyoza, sushi and sashimi was all delicious and fresh. I later learned that this restaurant is operated by Korean people. This place easily compares to other fine Japanese restaurants I've had the pleasure to dine at. We will definitely return to this restaurant and my kids are looking forward to it even though it is a nice, somewhat romantic spot.
