Our waiter was actually quite friendly but never came to check up on us. One thing I very much appreciated was that he brought us a jug of water so we didn't constantly have to ask for refills!I ordered the Vegetable Korma Roti and my sister got the Butter Chicken Roti and requested that it be made quite spicy. We both very much enjoyed our food as it came hot and fresh out of the kitchen. The serving was twice as much as I could finish so here's hoping the leftovers taste just as good!
The food at this restaurant is the highlight! It is always excellent. The rotis are large enough to satisfy you for two meals, or will easily fill you up if you're really hungry. The spice blend is fantastic and the roti is always served warm and fresh. I always order either the lamb roti or the butter chicken roti and I never regret it! The only thing to be mindful of is to double check your order if you're picking it up to make sure you got the right items.
I just ate a delicious spicy chicken roti. It was excellent.
Surprisingly delicious. An unexpected delight in Parkdale. We tried the chaat papri (chick peas and crispy wafers in a chutney with yogurt sauce and the lentil soup to start, which was peppery and had quite a kick. For mains, I had the butter chicken roti: phenomenal, just as good as regular chicken rotis but the Indian flavours really set it apart I thought. My boyfriend had the saag kofta roti, which was spinach, potatoes, coriander and some other vegetables (we tried to identify them, but couldn't. All we knew was it tasted great! It may not be decked out like some other Queen west establishments, but the food was solid (and quite inexpensive and our host was very courteous and helpful, and service was quick.
Mother India is fantastic with great food and friendly staff. I highly recommend trying the butter chicken roti, it is absolutely addictive.
