Nunu - Toronto

During our short vacation in Toronto (visiting from Brooklyn, NY), my husband and I finally had the opportunity to indulge in Ethiopian cuisine, something I had been eager to try for a long time.

I was treated to this restaurant as a post-birthday celebration. I would give it 4 stars for the atmosphere, as it is one of the better-looking Ethiopian restaurants, but only 3 stars for the food.

I tried Ethiopian cuisine for the first time and was truly impressed by my experience at this restaurant. We ordered the Misto Meat platter and it was a feast for the senses.

Ethiopian food is seemingly adventurous for the first-timer, but if you are going to give it a shot in Toronto, Nunu is the place to do it. I have tried a half-dozen well-regarded peer restaurants in the city, and while they were all delicious, Nunu...More

Came across this place as we were staying nearby on a weekend trip. Didn't have a reservation, and there was a big party happening, but they were still able to seat us. Google described this place as "etheopian fusion", but the food seemed very traditional and similar to what I've had before. But that's not a complaint; the food was amazing! We shared the vegetarian tasting platter. So good, and a great price, too.
