Sakura Ichiban - Toronto

I had a nice sushi experience at Sakura Ichiban. After a long flight from Edmonton, I ended up at this restaurant, which was conveniently close to my hotel (Holiday Inn Express). The exterior looked a bit rough with a smashed window, but the interior had a wonderful atmosphere. The decor was very nice and instantly put me in a good mood. The staff was welcoming and provided great service. Overall, the food was good but not exceptional. The service was prompt and the food was served at the proper temperature. Although nothing went wrong, nothing stood out as especially tasty to make me crave more. However, the Shrimp Tempura was quite delicious.

This restaurant is a great find located on the corner of Jarvis and Adelaide.

The lunch combo Sushi A is fantastic at this family restaurant. The sushi is incredibly fresh and the staff is friendly and attentive. I have never had a less than delicious meal here. One time I brought three kids, ages 8-12, for their first Japanese meal and the server was amazing. They gave us a private room, answered all the kids' questions, made them feel at ease with the raw sushi, and turned them into lifelong Japanese food enthusiasts. They also offer great takeout options. I can't wait to dine here again.

I tried out this restaurant based on a colleagues recommendation and the proximity to my house. The staff seemed friendly. The rice was at least not overcooked. The salmon was not cut that we'll so had a fair bit of sinew on it and made it quite tough to eat and chewy, the cucumber was cute huge and had too much crunch. As the title said, wasn't bad but for me it wasn't good enough to repeat.

Place is a bit empty but sushis are very good. Enjoyed several times - definitely a keeper. Slighty pricey but not excessive for a japanese restaurant.
