I was trying to plan a special birthday party and encountered some challenges when dealing with other gourmet pizza restaurants. However, after friends recommended this place to me, I was convinced that it was the only restaurant I needed to consider. Gavin, the owner, and his wife were dedicated to their new bar opening on weekends, but still went above and beyond to ensure our party was a success. The food was outstanding, with interesting, delicious, and high-quality pizzas. I am now a loyal customer and will definitely be returning. Thank you again for a fantastic experience!
My husband and I recently dined at this restaurant. The pizza was absolutely delicious! They offer a variety of toppings, including gluten-free options and different sizes. They also serve wine and beer. You place your order at the counter and then take a seat at one of the long tables they have set up. We sat at a table with another group at the end, but the space didn't feel crowded at all. The staff brings your meal directly to your table, making it a great spot for sharing and trying different pizzas. I had the small Margherita and my husband had the pepperoni. Both were tasty, but I especially enjoyed mine. They also offer salads and possibly lasagna. Overall, it's a unique spot with wonderful flavors. It would be perfect for a casual lunch or a quick dinner. The restaurant is located in the heart of Cabbagetown, near Jet Fuel Coffee, a small gift shop, and a liquor store. There's also a sushi restaurant just a few doors down. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
We have become regulars at Salt and Tobacco because the pizza is excellent. They use imported Italian flour to make a thin crust pizza with many topping options. We love pairing our meal with Loose Lips beer, but they also offer other great drinks like Nero Divola and Negroni. The 8-inch size is perfect for a light meal, while the 12-inch is great for those with a bigger appetite. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is cool, with music that rocks. They are open from 5 pm to 9 pm, making it a great option for dinner. Highly recommended.
A friend took me here despite my protest that I'm a non-smoker. Even the thought of salted chewing tobacco kind of put me off, but my friend was persistent so I went. It was actually a pizza place and no one was even smoking. I...like pizza so this was a relief. I didn't look closely at the pizza maker's fingers to see if they were nicotine stained but the thought of this made me a little queasy. I put it out of my head, picked a pizza and ordered. It was quite delicious and so was the homemade bitters I was offered to flavor the complimentary soda water with. I don't usually like smokers because they don't usually care about where they smoke, but the people working here were very nice. I'm still a non-smoker but I think I will return because I really liked everything else about this place.
