Sherway Keg - Toronto

The service and food at this restaurant are excellent! I have been here a few times in January and once in December. This restaurant has exceeded my expectations. The Rib Steak is now my favorite steak on the menu. It costs $59, but it is worth it. During one visit with a few friends, we ordered a variety of items from the menu including steaks and about six appetizers, including salads. Everything was delicious. I have also visited this restaurant with my family and each time, the experience has been excellent. You can't go wrong with The Keg!

Today we intended to have dinner at the Keg Sherway Gardens location, but unfortunately our evening was ruined by the rude, arrogant manager and seating staff. We had a reservation on open table for 4:15 and we specifically chose high top as an option, considering...that it’s a high table on their roof top patio. We specifically waited for this Friday night as it was a special evening for us. When we came the two seating hostesses tried to seat us inside at the lower bar area. We refused and asked for the roof top. They refused point blank and we asked to talk to the manager to ask him to put us on a waiting list to be seated where we wanted. The restaurant inside was completely empty, it was 4:20 in the afternoon. The manager was arrogant and did not make even a slightest attempt to accommodate our request, he never asked us about the occasion, and when we explained that high top seating option Was misleading and deceiving he said nothing. I even think he was annoyed that we couldn’t get it that we would not be seated where we requested. We speak with an accent so I assume the manager was annoyed at it. We were happily seated and received a stellar service at the Joey’s restaurant at Sherway location. We are extremely disappointed with the Keg. We were frequent visitors to the Keg before, and we even remember our last Dinner at this same location when all Toronto restaurants were closing for almost a year. We were literally the last customers before the longest lockdown. It’s very sad and quite emotional that today we got such a bad experience and the poorest customer service ever. To all patrons, who try to book through open table, please be aware the high top is the lower bar inside area.

Dropped by here for our anniversary dinner. Always loved the location, patios have a nice sunset view. Nice atmosphere. We made a 7pm reservation on ground level patio with lovely red umbrellas. We were almost seated on time (had to wait a little longer) but...all was good until the waiter spilled a full glass of water all over my wife's pants. Well good thing it was warm outside. We ordered the Classic New York strip steak with a side of mixed veggies. Very nice, although the steak was a bit chewy. The CRISPY FRIED CAULIFLOWER with hoisin ginger sauce was delicious as an appetizer and the KEG CAESAR with romaine, aged parmesan cheese, creamy dressing was a bit small for the price but delicious. We finished the meal with the BILLY MINER PIE mocha ice cream on a chocolate crust with hot fudge, caramel and almonds heavenly. Besides the mishap, we had a good time.

The service was really good. The appetizer and the drinks came fast, and the net was delicious. Win. I would definitely recommend

The ambience is beautiful in restaurants, but who chooses the lighting we couldn't wait to get out because it was really unpleasant. Unfortunately, we also noticed this at other Keg locations! This is NOT a pleasant atmosphere, and we have a number of other tables... close to our table, which also complained about the dark lighting!
