After a pleasant visit to Casa Loma, we had a leisurely lunch at Sotto Sotto. The ambiance is wonderful, the wine perfectly chilled and the food was delicious. We then had a nice walk back to the Windsor Arms Hotel in Yorkville. I highly recommend it to you for lunch or dinner, where I understand it is in very high demand. Lunch was nice and quiet with a lot of personal attention.
Love the food, the fish selection and the ambience is beautiful, will have to go back again and again.
This was my first time at Sotto Sotto. We came for my daughter's birthday. My Mother came with and I immediately noticed there are stairs to get into this restaurant. She managed the stairs into the restaurant but when we got in the hostess said our table was upstairs. It's a large steep staircase. Fortunately they had one on the main floor. If you're coming to the restaurant make sure you reserve main floor if there's anyone in your party who has trouble walking. I'm not sure what they can do if someone is in a wheelchair. The service was very good in an informal way which I really like. The appetizers were good.I had what they called seafood soup as a main but it's really seafood linguine without the linguine. Their tomato sauces are very strong. The restaurant really calls for appetizer/main/dessert because the portions are not large. We asked for more bread twice. That usually means not enough food. All the seafood was cooked to perfection and their grilled squid was the best I've had.I will come back to this restaurant. FYI no drinks tax + tip 5 people $250.00 for seafood that's reasonable!I forgot 1 thing. When we pulled up to the restaurant we did valet parking thinking it was part of the restaurant. When we left we found out it was a separate company not affiliated with the restaurant.
I thought the menu, venue and service were great. Caesar salad and grilled octopus were excellent as was my fettuccini and wild boar ragout. My wife had orata (again) which was very good. Dessert was gelato which was great. We ate a lot but I thought $300 was high, considering we had a few drinks not wine. The only negative was the smell of dirty dishwater upon entering the restaurant.
