Decent portion and a unique beverage selection. My partner enjoyed the non alcoholic option very much.This omakase counter feels very spacious which gives more privacy than other omakase bars. There wasn’t much interaction with the chefs but they were attentive and great service overall.I leave 4 stars review as I feel like sushis were of similar palette (creamy, fatty side of things and a repeated garnish) than more variety.Can’t wait to go back!
Awesome spot for an omakase experience. The sushi and sashimi were super fresh and the other dishes were very tasty. The staff was extremely friendly as well. Definitely make a reservation before coming here to ensure you get a seating.
This was a special treat dinner to ourselves and it didn't disappoint! The location is unassuming, the interior is understated but the food and the experience were spectacular. We sat at the counter, a good choice to see the level of precision in the plating and the skill in creating the sushi. Amazing staff who took time to carefully explain each serving but were equally unobtrusive as we enjoyed the evening. Yes, it's eye-waveringly expensive but it's definitely a special occasion destination.
An outstanding meal, beautifully crafted and presented by Master Kaji and team. Expert layering of flavours, the freshest of fish, and a feast for the eyes and mouth. We have been coming here for years and the quality never wavers. Highly recommended!
Sushi Kaji is tucked away in an unassuming commercial strip on The Queensway in Etobicoke. Tbh, we’ve had people say to us that they’ve passed by and wondered what sort of sushi restaurant would locate in such an unusual location.Well, the truth is that Sushi Kaji is at the top of the IYKYK heap, and discerning fans of top of the line sushi make the pilgrimage to Kaji’s eponymous resto to enjoy what is arguably the best Omakase in Canada. Kaji himself is one of Toronto’s OG sushi masters, moving here as a young man in the 1980s and establishing his own brand not long after he arrived in Canada. He offers two Omakase options, with the distinction being that one features a wagyu beef addition. All the ingredients are fresh, carefully selected and (mostly) imported often daily to ensure the best quality and experience.And yes, it’s not inexpensive so for most of us mortals this is very much a special occasion event. Recently, we celebrated our wedding anniversary there, and believe us when we say the evening was very special and worth every penny (and more).
