I don't personally eat seafood so sometimes it's hard for me to visit these kinda spots but they had great alternatives and enough to keep me happy and very full.
I was persuaded by a co-worker to try TCJ for takeaway dinner, he swore it would be excellent. For a first visit I ordered the standard meal: spring roll, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken balls, and General Tso's chicken. For a full meal, labeled as "dinner for 2" the total bill was quite reasonable, just over $30 with tax but with takeout and cash discount it ended being $25 total. The dishes themselves were very tasty; the spring rolls looked hand-rolled, the rice had plenty of vegetables and the right chew, the chicken balls were not the average commercial product but rather appeared made to order with a good sauce (not the thick sticky glue one normally expects), and the General Tso was very flavourful with just the right amount of heat. As a very added bonus there was enough food for four people, not just two - SUPERB value. The menu offers Thai, Chinese and Japanese cuisine. I will definitely order from here again - maybe being a little more adventurous next time.
This is my favourite all you can eat restaurant! TCJ stands for Thai, Chinese and Japanese because they have almost anything you can think of for those types of food. So much variety to choose from, so there is something for everyone. The food is always fresh and yummy. This is not a buffet, all hot dishes are made to order and you can order as much and as many times as you like. They give you an ipad where you place your order and can see pictures of everything on the menu. I have never had a problem with anything I have ordered and I eat there often. The restaurant is clean and is rarely crowded, I always get a table right away. While I like everything I have tried there, I recommend the short ribs, Mongolian beef and the TCJ special sushi roll. Also, the egg bun is an amazing dessert! This place offers great value for great food. I definitely recommend this place to anyone!
Family and I went there for a NYE dinner. The restaurant wasnt busy. We did the all you can eat dinner. Our first few dishes came fairly quickly and they were good. But that was it. After that, some dishes never came. My mom doesnt eat sushi, so she ordered cooked food and at one point they brought her plain steamed rice. What was she supposed to eat that with? Lol the presentation of the food was horrible. We ended up leaving hungry because our food took too long to come :( And we had to pay their New Years dinner price. Sucks when you spend that much money and get a crappy dinner. I would not recommend this restaurant.
My Husband and I had the opportunity to visit TCJ on Dec. 3 in the late afternoon. We were in Toronto to see Our friend in a Christmas Concert just down the street. We happened upon TCJ as we had parked in the parking lot right beside them. I wasnt sure at first, but thought what the heck. We went in, the interior of the restaurant is gorgeous, and well hey, it said all you can eat, so sign us up lol The owner who is very friendly, and sadly we didnt get his name, seated us. We had never experienced this type of all you can eat, as it was order from the tablet that was left with us as we dined- so everything was made fresh to order as you enjoyed your hot, fresh food! The owner and all the servers were very courteous and helpful as we had questions regarding not only the menu items, but how the tablet worked for ordering. All the veg was fresh cut, and wow - way better than any Asian cuisine we have ever had!!! The only downfall to TCJ that we could tell, is that they dont have one in Hamilton!! We definitely will go again!
