Wide selection of different types of beer. There were also lots of sour beer options, if you 're in to that. My favorite was the Not Your Grandmas cinnamon roll stout. It was so thick, smooth and delicious. Staff was so friendly and even tried to help us with one of the trivia questions! The place is in the back of industrial buildings off of Western. It looks like they may have pop up food vendors that stop by last night was pizza. We didn 't get to try it but it smelled really really good. The place was super chill and lots of bench style seating for large groups. Overall, definitely will come back.
The Dudes ' Brewing Company is well hidden, ensconced in a small side street way off of Western Avenue w/ tastefully done, light industrial setting. Even though it is inside, the high ceiling and wide open side door give an illusion of airiness. So best to bring a light jacket on cold winter nights. This TDBC is also its brewing site so you can see the stainless steel vats while drinking your brew. Beer flights are offered: Four 4oz samples of the beers and ales on tap if you want to test the various wares here. Casual seating on wooden tables that seem like gigantic spools for winding huge, thick cable as well as long picnic tables. Bearded bartender was friendly and helpful. When I explained I wanted a beer that tasted like a classic German Kölsch, he let me sample two beers that he thought was close. 1) Bierhalle Hefeweizen is yeasty, bit floral like plumeria, citrus orange peel sensation. Touch sweet, green herbal bitter hoppiness, wheaty meatiness . Medium carbonation adds a bit of clean acidity to add complexity. 2) Juice Box Series: Blood Orange Amber Ale Medium body, sense of sweet orange juice like Aranciata Rossa carbonated soda by San Pellegrino. Slight toasty dulcet tone. Great summer time thirst quencher although anytime of the year in Socal would be appropriate. There are non-alcoholic options in a narrow, tall glass refrigerated case. But with such good beer, I definitely was not tempted. Beer may also have many healthful ingredients. [hidden link] 4- stars PS Dog friendly but only for the well behaved.
We had one of the beers at a local restaurant and wanted to check out the actual brewery. It 's a small brewery that 's a little hard to find but with great selections of beer. There is ample parking in the office area. The lady working there let us sample a few beers. I was really blown away with their peanut butter stout. I 'm not a huge fan of peanut butter but their peanut butter stout was delicious!
We went here as our craft beer loving friend came in town and he was impressed with the wide range of selections this place offers. It's nice they satisfy different preferences. The flight of beer is $7 and the bartender helped me pick what I want. I liked most of them but the unique sweet s'mores one was good (though it did not go well with pizza so I had it after dinner). The wooden plate for the flight is cute and fun. It was not crowded yet but somehow they got another order wrong but they quickly replaced with the correct one so the service is ok. I got confused by their birthday reward and asked for a free flight of beer but they told us it was only for the members and didn't offer us to sign up anyways. The simple tasting area got crowded partially due to the trivia event that they hold every Thursday. Some big groups seemed very into it. The host of the trivia was very engaging and great. People can purchase snacks like popcorns here or have outside food delivered popular choice is pizza. They have napkins available in case you're wondering what to bring along with your food. After learning what you like, you could get your favorite in cans to take home with you! Our friend got the orange amber. The parking is available nextdoor. As this is in the industrial zone, the parking is not competitive.
Came here for Thursday trivia nights and it was so much fun! It was a full house when we attended, and the crowd was so energetic and loud. It was a very fun atmosphere and the host who was in charge of the trivia was hilarious and awesome. The beertenders were fast and friendly. We redeemed a Groupon voucher and received so much goodies! We had two flights, 3 packs of beer, 2 pint glasses, a frisbee and a hat. It's a pretty good damn deal. We couldn't select our own choices of beer but all of it was great! My favorite was the boysenberry beer. Overall, great place to hang out and unwind after a long day of work. I will definitely come back to try more beers!
