Il Padrino - Torredembarra

Having visited Italy many times and finding this restaurant in the outskirts of Tarragona has been an absolute pleasant surprise.. The best Spaghetti Carbonara I ever ate!! Thank you for that experience!

Have eaten here several times. On this occasion it was mid week lunch for two. My husband had salad and Hawaian( ham and pineapple Pizza and I chose from the daily menu(12€ There is usually choice of 3/4 starters, mains and about 6 deserts this time I had garden vegetables and sliced braised veal in gravy. The menu serves plain home cooked food, normal size portions and is a good value option for lunch. (A la carte portions are much larger. The waiters are happy to pack up any left overs in foil containers to take home. The pizza was thin based and tasty. We were served promptly as it wasnt very busy, but at weekends and in high summer, the service can be slow as it gets very busy. The negative side is that they don't/ can't cater for a family member's need for blended food, which means that we visit this restaurant less often than we would and opt for takeaways for this reason. We are satisfied with the quantity, quality and packaging of the takeaways. we normally order pasta and pizza.

We stay nearby and my husband insists on buying pizzas to take away more often than I would like to, just because of proximity. Each time I say the same, it 's not terrible, but it 's not good either. The ingredients are thrown on top carelessly and not cooked. I have been to the south of Italy and have seen this done in this way, but this place doesn 't use the necessary quality of ingredients or cooking skills to do that and succeed. So each time I end up completing the cooking of my pizza in the oven. Finally my husband seems to have agreed with me that it 's not worth the time or the money, and we haven 't returned. One night, we were passing by, and we decided to sit in, at the terrace. It was completely overcrowded. It was a little late as well, so we asked politely if it was still OK to get a table and they said yes but moaned, and then ignored us while seated. I called a waiter over and said, if it wasn 't fine to sit down for dinner at this time, you could have said and it wouldn 't have been a problem. The place was load, too full of people speaking at the top of their voice, kids running around, waiters rushing about, anything but relaxing. Very stressful in fact. In the end, and for the first time (having been a regular customer of their take away), the pizzas were decently cooked and we enjoyed them, but the irregular food and really stressful environment really doesn 't pay off. Since we have better choices in the area, we 've become regular customers of other restaurants that deserve it more.

La comida que ofrece este restaurante es muy buena, con cantidades muy generosas y también tienen un menú extenso, con un precio nada caro. Todos los barmanes en el lugar son encantadores, y todos te están esperando. el restaurante está lleno inmediatamente, así que según el día y el tiempo que va puede tomar un poco más y traer la comida, pero sin duda, vale la pena esperar. Recomiendo pedir tiempo antes de ir, ya que todas las mesas están llenas inmediatamente y no hay espacio para nadie. un sitio muy recomendado al que hemos ido varias veces y ciertamente continuaremos yendo!

Nos recomendaron ir a probar y la verdad de que estábamos bien y teníamos un buen servicio, no teníamos que esperar mucho para los platos y eso estaba lleno para rebosar. Es un lugar que el tuyo es reservar si quieres asegurarte de comer. los platos son muy xxxl tamaño, para tener en cuenta, lo mejor para compartir, son los platos con raciones super generosas.
