Contribuisci feedbackA warm welcoming pub, full of character with friendly locals and staff.Made to feel relaxed and at home straight away. Superbly cooked fresh food,a great menu choice, with an emphasis on local produce. Although the pub was extremely busy the service was quick, and nothing was too much trouble. We opted for the venison pie x 2 which was a proper pie,top and bottom crust, full of tender meat with a rice gravy,a well cooked mixture of fresh vegetables and good chips. A good bottle of Malbec,2 pints and a fantastic gooey sticky toffee pudding also homemade with clotted cream. The whole bill coming to £61,which we thought was exceptional value for money.. So much so,we had lunch there the next day too, trying 3 light lunches of beetroot cured Salmon, cheddar and apple tart and pigeon salad, all superb. We will be making the pilgrimage from Cornwall to the King Arms again in the not to distant future, truly memorable.,Top job
What a fantastic find! A friendly pub with a fantastic chef. I ordered John Dory, served with a lemon butter with toasted, flaked almonds. Superb! A similar meal at our local fish restaurant in Bournemouth would have been twice the price. My friend ordered a chicken burger, served with gorgeous hot chunky chips and a creamy coleslaw. She said it was fab! We called to move our table forward half an hour as we were super hungry lol) and this was no issue. Lovely staff, brilliant service, hot, delicious food. Highly recommended! Do book ahead of your stay... it is very popular but they have good table spacing so it didn't feel cramped. A country cottage feel, with a great menu, and a chef that really knows his way around a kitchen. Fantastic! Helen Carter.
I visited this restaurant over the weekend on Saturday evening (bank holiday weekend). The food was fantastic and all the staff were very friendly and efficient. I ordered the fish of the day which was monkfish and it was one of the best dishes I have ever had. The fish and chips, burgers, and mac and cheese were also very good. The beer and gin were delicious, the sun was shining, the kids were happy, the adults were happy... The only issue is that we live four hours away so unfortunately, we won't be able to come back for a while!
I run 2 holiday cottages locally and recommend you in my welcome pack as a great place for lunch and dinner. Always a good menu of locally sourced produce, this changes fairly regularly which is great, good choices with something for everyone, a selection of local ales, cider and wines to accompany your meal, good service, lovely atmosphere and a roaring fire to welcome you in the winter months. A popular choice with my guests this season with some great feedback. Fiona (Colehouse Farm Holiday Cottages)
Great ambiance old traditional pub. Wonderful hosts and delicious food. Mad butcher hamburgers and pork belly to die for.
