The sofas and tables, made from old cast iron machine bases, add to the incredible atmosphere. The food was delicious, and my boys especially loved the hot chocolate. Pete, Brioney, and their family were incredibly welcoming, making our experience even better. Whether you're a visitor or a local, this cafe is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back again and again!
After wandering around looking for a peaceful café to enjoy lunch, we discovered this delightful café. The service was exceptional, with the lady being very attentive and accommodating to my dietary restrictions as a coeliac. It's usually difficult to find a café that offers a variety of options for me, but she made me two delicious toasted brie, bacon, and cranberry rolls served with coleslaw and crisps. My fiancé also enjoyed a similar meal with regular bread. The atmosphere was welcoming, with great music playing in the background, creating a nice and relaxed café environment. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience - we will definitely be back the next time we visit Bideford.
As someone who is more spiritual than religious, I tend to feel a bit uneasy around places with overt religious references. However, this restaurant was truly amazing. They were playing music from the 1940s, the coffee was exceptional, and they had plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The best part was the variety of vintage items for sale at great prices. I ended up buying two things and would have bought more if my patient partner hadn't intervened - they know all too well about my love for vintage items! The staff were friendly, and there were interior design magazines to browse through. I was in such a happy place here. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back without children so I can take my time to browse, read, and enjoy a cup of tea. I absolutely loved it.
Visited The Rock Church Cafe twice while visiting the area, and if time had allowed, I would most certainly have taken the opportunity to go back, again and again. Not only did I find it a super place for food and beverages but was made to feel most welcome by Brioney and her family; coupled with the truly unique decor comprising of quirky retro items at affordable prices, which one could purchase. Food and beverage options were extremely good, including a vegan menu. I can recommend the vegan breakfast! Next time I visit Bideford, I am making a bee line for The Rock Church Cafe. . . .
Best hot chocolate ever!! Awesome toasties as well. Very warm friendly and cosy, will definitely be coming back.
