An entrance dish (salad with some fuet), an excellent fideua and eggs with jam, beverage and dessert included, all for 10.5 EUR. The people who work there make a really good job, quick and kindly. The place is in the Tortosa outskirts, so it ideal for all those who are working in the road and want to stop for having lunch.
Let'sface it, Tortosa is a gastronomic desert. I have been visiting the city on and off for over 40 years, and in all that time I cannot say that I have found a truly great place to eat, especially in the evenings. Diners out in Tortosa have a limited choice pizzas, tapas or pseudo gastro restos. Well, the Ardiaca is not great, but quite frankly is better than the average. It is a family run place about 6 or 7 minutes drive out of Tortosa (direction Aldea) offering simple, plain, home cooking at excellent prices. My wife and I had a caldo (meat soup), just the thing on a cold night, followed by three excellent lamb chops each wit vegetables, pudding (I had a tarta al whisky I haven't been offered one of those in the last 30 years). drinks and coffee, all for 25 euros. And finally, the service was excellent very attentive, without hovering over you while you eat. If you are looking for good but simple food at reasonable prices, this is the place to go
