La Taverna De Tossa - Tossa de Mar

We visited here after seeing the menu outside and had a good meal. The premises are small inside and the food can be seen being freshly grilled and cooked in the open kitchen area which brings with it a wonderful smell. Our meals looked fabulous on arrival and that balance of grilled meat with fresh mint and other spices was very appetising. The food proved to be as delicious as it looked. I would return but just a few negatives. Immediately after finishing our meal, the staff presented us our bill and asked to take our drinks away. It was clear they wanted our table for other guests but just to be allowed a moment would have been more appropriate and less rude. The toilets were not the best and we're in need of some cleaning. It felt more like a busy city centre pub toilet than something I'd expect in a restaurant. Overall though, great food and the chef has our compliments but the other matters would improve things without much effort.

Great looking restaurant but the service was unprofessional and the food poor. The staff appeared not to communicate with each other and we saw several occasions where customers had to correct mistakes in their order. They all appeared unhappy in their work, it is hard to describe but they did not interact with customers and seemed far too eager to rush through the process of ordering and serving to have any other interest in service. Two staff members had several conversations together which seemed to be of a negative nature and overall looked unprofessional. We ate our starters and due to the food we'd ordered, left our dirty cutlery on our plates for collection, only to have these abrubtly placed back on the table which was poor. Our Paella was of a reasonable size but proved to be overcooked, with the mussels being almost crossled. We saw the toilets had run out of paper which caused some distress for a customer which alongside the other matters did not provide a good look. In summary, this place looks good but seems to be run on the cheap with some unprofessional staff and food of poor quality.

Nos hemos quedado dos noches y el hostal es magnífico, sobretodo la ubicación que está poco más de 3 minutos de la playa principal. La habitación es pequeña pero tiene todo lo necesario,el único inconveniente es que no hay wifi y en caso de que hubiese no hay mucha cobertura en la habitación. Por lo demás 10 de 10.

Totalmente recomendable. Mi marido y yo ibamos cada día a desayunar y nos hemos sentido como en casa. Lo mejor el servicio. Los camareros son rápidos y serviciales. Destacar el magnífico trato de Sergio, que siempre te atiende con una gran sonrisa. Te echaremos de menos! Te esperamos el próximo año.
