We appreciated the historic architecture of the building, and upon entering, we were greeted by a distinct, inviting woody aroma. We each ordered wine flights and particularly enjoyed the dry Riesling and Saluti. The presentation of the wines was impressive, and our server was fantastic as well.
Billsboro Winery, tucked away in the woods, features a charming barn-style design with rustic stone walls and a deep maroon exterior. The winery excels in providing excellent service, offering comfortable seating both indoors and on a covered deck outside. They have a diverse selection of dry and sweet wines, and they uniquely provide a curated flight paired with chocolates. While I personally wasn’t interested in the chocolate pairings, I can see how they would appeal to many others. The classic ambiance and well-appointed seating areas make Billsboro a fantastic destination for wine lovers.
We had a wonderful experience! We arrived right when they opened, and the service was excellent. The staff was very knowledgeable. The tasting area in the unique barn, complete with a patio, added to the charm. The prices were more reasonable than many other wineries nearby. While the wine selection wasn't extensive, the quality was impressive. The grapes are sourced from local vineyards, which is a nice touch.
Spectacular service in addition to the incredible wine and atmosphere! A flight of 5 wines was only $12. The cheese selection is incredible and they give a fair amount, so it is definitely worth ordering. The views are beautiful!
We visited Billsboro for its Chocolate and Wine pairing and were excited given it was the first winery that we were exploring in the Finger lakes region. Unfortunately, the overall experience was underwhelming. First, there was zero effort put by thewinery to explain the process of trying the chocolates and wines together. There were no tasting notes on the wines, and therewasn't even clear labeling to indicate which chocolate corresponds to what name. I'd recommend that the winery spend time tomake the experience more educational for amateur wine drinkers. Two, the wines themselves felt unremarkable. Out of the fourthat we tasted, none really piqued our interest sufficiently for us to buy a bottle. Overall, if Billsboro were to invest a bitmore in the experience it offers to its patrons, visiting this winery could be worthwhile.
