The bar has a wide varieties of drafts and a good selection of wine. The first time I had the wedge salad as my dinner and I was disappointed; it was bland and the salad dressing was very runny. The second time I tried their ribs. They say they smoke them on premises. They were terrible. They arrived cold and undercooked. I suspect they were reheated in a microwave. All told dinner for 4, two apps, two glasses of wine and two Narragansett drafts came to $155 with tip.
I will start with a positive: the patio. I've only ever eaten on the patio, and it is beautiful. It overlooks a putting green with hills and trees as the backdrop. It is a really beautiful and relaxing setting on a nice day. I wish I had snapped a picture for this review, but you'll just have to take my word for it! I usually go there with a group and get apps which are always good, but nothing too special--chicken fingers, nachos, etc. I had a meal there once--the Pastrami Pretzel Sandwich. Delicious! It definitely surpasses the appetizers. Now for the negative: the service. I am surprised to read the other reviews and hear that they had good service. Unfortunately I don't have many positive things to say about that part of the experience. During my most recent visit, they were swamped with some sort of party in the bar area, so I was totally understanding that the waitress was a little less attentive and a little frazzled. However, I've also been there a handful of times before when the restaurant was seemingly dead and have had inattentive and unfriendly (at times) servers. Definitely a bummer, but I'd say it's still worth a shot for the patio alone.
The Pastrami Pretzel is an excellent way to end 18 holes of golf. Tuesday Summer Special 18 holes with a cart for $40.
Nice and relaxed, as you'd expect on a golf course. Reasonably priced,. The service was excellent and friendly. Food courses came well timed. I'm a fan of seafood so a clam chowder plus fish and chips were a must. (Good cod. Not some mystery fish. The portions were generous. I'd highly recommend this place for a nice lunch or an informal dinner.
The service is always great, the food is very good. Excellent portions. The California Reuben is amazing and the Pastrami Pretzel is a steady choice of my wife. The Fish and Chips special with nice thick clam chowder is also very good. Only meal I have had that failed a couple of time was the Chicken Parm. The breading in the chicken was almost burnt the last couple times I had it. A regular in my rotation!
