I particularly enjoyed the Panacotta and will definitely return in the future to try more dishes. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking this place out. The atmosphere is relaxing, the view is beautiful, and the staff are very friendly. Overall, we had a fantastic time dining here.
This restaurant is a fantastic choice for dinner after enjoying the sunset at Horseshoe Bay. They accept reservations for busy weekends. The duck salad and vegetarian curry were both very tasty, but the sticky toffee pudding was the standout dish - it was so amazing. The ambiance is great, the service is friendly, and the food is delicious.
The food at this restaurant was undeniably excellent and the best on the island. It was very tasty and well-presented, and came out quickly with a diverse beverage menu. The ambience and building were beautiful, with delightful artwork. It would have been the perfect location for a date night, but unfortunately, the experience was marred by the arrogant and rude owner (a tall old man with glasses named Dave) who lacked basic manners like saying 'please' or 'thank you'. When trying to engage him in conversation about the food, he was completely uninterested and looked at me arrogantly and dismissively. This behavior was particularly disappointing coming from someone who is supposed to be a "restauranteur" on a tourist island. Thankfully, the rest of the staff were very pleasant, but it is unfortunate that they do not follow his poor example. It seems that this old man has a history of behaving this way given other reviews, and it would be in everyone's best interest if he were not there. Despite this, the restaurant is top-notch and has the potential to be an island institution. Just avoid the old tall guy and you will likely have a better experience than we did.
Barefoot is a great place, considering most towns have been devastated and still recovering from covid. Not a lot in the Isle is open (sadly Google hasn't been updated by owners or those who came before us to find that the place doesn't exist anymore). Barefoot is putting a lot of effort into providing a good service. Fantastic, great value seafood platter, enough for 2-3 hungry adults. All of the reviews are spot on with this.
Gorgeous garden seating area out the back. Dog friendly. We ate here multiple times. The food is exceptional, particularly the seafood platter and the pumpkin ravioli. The owner…. We secretly call him Bill Murray. We enjoyed the challenge of winning him over. His staff are all lovely.
