Our meals were good but the friendly staff and service made our evening a great night. Will definitely be going back.

Had lunch whilst at the hotel for a business function. Good, basic lunch. Dessert plate was the highlight-excellent baked cheese cake. Overall pretty good, basic fare-appropriate for the occasion.

The newly named hotel The Grand Chancellor" has now provided a dining experience that is the best in Townsvllle, The Sugar Shaker Restaurant has it all ins spades, Ambience gentel soft music upmarket decor, with class and elegance and Starched white cotton table cloths with matching cotton white napkins so much more refined than the so called modern restaurant with their bare tables. Meals priced competitively generous servings and delicious to of the range meals service friendly but discrete plates removed in a timely manner meals served quickly and views to the street below make dining at the Sugar Shaker a fine dining most enjoyable experience simply the best Merle Trembath

Food was okay but the restaurant lacked atmosphere. Staff attentive. The addition of some music in the background would have helped.
