Drinks were ordered at your table and the Twain will never meet. Separate payments in cash. Win it 2 stars as the food was very good.
I visited this restaurant as part of a large group. The management has laid on a first-class experience of the traditional Austrian dish with really good white wine, which apparently comes from vineyards owned by the restaurant management. This restaurant is located in the 'accommodations' of a relatively small town, about an hour drive from Vienna. It is not somewhere that the average tourist arrives easily. However, it is really worth tracking down. There were more than 40 individuals in our group who have dined here and without exception we were all delighted with the experience.
If you like wine, you will love the shop with tasting. You will get the opportunity to taste 1/16 litres of wine, accompanied by various delicious cheeses and other specialties of the austria. The tasting is very bright and friendly when you are in Baden... because try it out.
I had a very pleasant lunch this weekend in Heuriger Zierer in Baden near Vienna. Austrian "Heuriger " I would say is the equivalent of a British gas drip. There is a wide selection of wines on the menu, and a simple...but good offer of salads, cheese and freshly made roasts, which can be ordered and paid in the counter. All we ate and drank was good and tasty, the service was friendly, the prices are moderate. We have enjoyed eating al fresco in the shaded garden, which is large enough to accommodate many people, so you can simply without the need of booking table in advance. I recommend this heurer to visit Doblhoffpark, which is not far from here.
I had a very enjoyable al fresco lunch in Heuriger Zierer in Baden bei Wien over this weekend. Austrian 'heuriger' - I would say - is the equivalent of a British gastropub. There is a large selection of wines on the menu, and a simple but good offer on salads, cheese, and freshly made roasts that can be ordered and paid inside at the counter. Everything we ate and drank was good and tasty, the service was kind, the prices are moderate. We enjoyed eating al fresco in the shady garden which is large enough to accommodate many people, so you can just pop in without the need of booking table in advance. I highly recommend this heuriger when visiting the Doblhoffpark, which is not far from here.
