The owners, Vikki and Scott, along with bartenders Scott and Brian, always make us feel so welcome! We affectionately refer to the tiki bar as our happy place. The drinks are incredible and have a wonderfully tropical vibe! We typically kick things off with their famous **** Mary’s and then indulge in their renowned rum cocktails. We always have a great time there and have made many new friends at the bar or by the pool. If you're ever in Treasure Island or strolling along the beach, be sure to stop by and enjoy a tropical drink. Trust me, you'll love it—the variety is fantastic! They also cater to families, offering delicious fruity non-alcoholic drinks, as well as a selection of ice cream and popsicles for kids!
While the reception staff was friendly, the overall customer service was extremely poor. In our room, the kitchen floor was damaged, and water leaked for two days before finally stopping. There was a hidden hole beneath the cracked kitchen floor, concealed by a carpet in the photos. The carpets looked filthy, the bathroom sink stopper was broken, and the nightstand in the bedroom was poorly attached and slipped right off. To make matters worse, our door broke the night before our wedding. The bathroom renovation was incomplete, and there was a strange cover on the kitchen ceiling hiding a hole above the refrigerator. There's no manager or maintenance available on weekends. We had to wait 30-45 minutes for someone to fix our door, only to find out that the entire door frame needed to be replaced. It was incredibly frustrating to deal with all these issues during our wedding week, and the manager admitted to knowing about some of them but accused us of exaggerating our concerns. He even suggested that we were deliberately creating confusion about the state of the floor and threatened to give us a 0% discount instead of the 25% we had initially discussed, despite our continued dissatisfaction. Our displeasure was not just about the floor, but the clear lack of care for us as customers. We were made to feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. The reception staff informed us that another room had been blocked off for us to view, but then refused to move us. No one was empowered to help us without the manager’s approval. This was by far the worst experience I've had at the Island Inn and honestly the worst stay I’ve had anywhere.
Upon checking in, we noticed the floors were dirty, so we requested that the cleaning staff come to address the issue. When the maid arrived, she claimed the room had already been cleaned but offered to sweep again. However, the carpet was still extremely dirty, so we asked for a vacuum. After we left the room to tidy up our valuables, we returned to find no improvement in the cleanliness of the floors. I called again to request a vacuum and mop. Additionally, many of the pillows were unclean, prompting us to roll up the carpet and stash it under the bed. We had also left our passports in the room while it was being cleaned, but when we returned, we found them missing. While it's difficult to determine exactly what happened, to the best of our knowledge, this was the only time anyone entered our room. We reported the incident to local authorities and had to delay our flights to obtain emergency identification. I reached out to the General Manager, Ryan, to explain the situation and request a complimentary night as compensation. Unfortunately, Ryan declined to take responsibility for the resort’s shortcomings and did not offer to provide a free night’s stay.
The room was immaculately clean (rooms with double beds), spacious and very affordable with balcony overlooking the beach. The staff went beyond and beyond to help me use a beach wheelchair rental for my mom who has difficulty running. They were helpful, friendly and compassionate. Both my mom and I hope to visit again!
I usually do not post negative reviews. I have been disappointed with the dirt in unit 606. It was so nasty, I chose not to take a bath. The bathroom door squeaked loudly. I got a lot of bug bites, that I am worried were bedbugs. On the positive side, the people at the front desk were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. great ocean view on the balcony. Please fix the toilet. And for heaven sake, please clean the bathroom.
