It was located in the district of Karden, where we also lived, about 5 minutes walk from the apartment. For this it was very centrally located at an angle to the station. The big house had already noticed us while passing through the place. It includes several buildings. On the website the dimension of the facility is well to see. The hotel is a four-star house. The restaurant is located in the slightly elevated area. On a Thursday night we looked at the whole thing. A beautifully designed entrance with wrought iron gratings. Behind it was the reception. A bit further left was an entrance to the restaurant. There we went through. The restaurant was empty to see no one. We entered a house corridor. On the left side it went into a large, full room. So we went right. There we were noticed by a friendly lady. When we said we would like to eat something, she led us to the hotel's wine room. She explained to us that they had Belgian guests in the house, who had come to them for years. They sat in the hall. Since the wine room was at the other end of the corridor, nothing was heard. We looked for a nice table in the wine room and got the cards immediately. The offer included Pfälzer Saumagen, pork, cattle, wild dishes and fish. Soups, salads, desserts. Apparently the card changes after season, here is a significant plus point. A selection of regional wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks were offered on drinks. Prices moved in the upper average to slightly raised range. On the way we took the currently offered soup. As a main dish for my companion the Palatinate Saumagen, which he wanted to try. I took a wild dish; Rehbraten. Both soups and the main dishes were delicious. The portions were perhaps not as extensive as elsewhere. For this we tried the regional wine offer. The wines were good, we didn't expect to do that on the Mosel. The Weinstube was comfortably furnished. In the background we noticed a salad buffet. It seemed to be offered to the more expensive dishes; It was obviously not our food. We had already noticed in another restaurant that the salad buffet had been cut off well when we came to dinner for 20.00 h. That's what it looked like. The staff was friendly, maybe a little distance. It was a big hotel, here it was a touch more impersonal than in the other restaurants we visited in Karden. Overall, we can recommend the Schloss-Hotel Petry for dinner. There is a gourmet restaurant next to the wine bar, which we did not visit.
