As a family-owned restaurant, the service may be a bit on the slower side, but it's definitely worth the wait. You’ll feel welcomed from the moment you arrive, and the staff provides interesting historical insights. The food and wine are truly authentic, reminiscent of what your grandmother used to make. I ordered the Danube sampler for my meal, which allowed me to savor a variety of dishes, and it was absolutely delicious! Don't miss out on the salad with dill dressing. I can't wait to return!
I had a wonderful experience enjoying lunch at Blue Danube. I arrived toward the end of the lunch service and ordered the pierogies. Margaret was fantastic; she shared the history of the restaurant and how she and her husband became its owners and operators. The food was not only beautifully presented but also delicious. I can't wait to return!
I had an excellent dining experience with fantastic food and service. It was my first time trying authentic German cuisine, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The sauerbraten was incredible—tender and full of flavor. The tomato potato soup also caught me off guard with its delightful taste. As for dessert, the homemade apple strudel featured an incredibly light crust that just melted in my mouth. I’m looking forward to bringing my husband here; he’ll truly enjoy having a homemade meal for a change!
FANTASTIC!!!! I had the culinary surprise of recent memory. WE met a couple of friends there just by chance. Picked an area half way. Trenton?? OK why not, the menu looked interesting. The food was authentic. Perfectly prepared. Veal I could cut with my fork. Spaetzle that had to have been made today. EVERYTHING was prepared today. It was a Wednesday so it was a slow night. The owner was the head chef and his wife was the wait staff. Great food, a good selection of eastern European and Germanic beers. The restaurant has been here over 30 years. Go treat yourself. ITS THE REAL DEAL
Amazing food. Had potatoes pancakes shared them as an appetizer they were perfect starchy and hearty. Then I had the kielbasa and perogies for an entree, kielbasa was salty but nice and the perogies where good too it was more than I could eat ended up bringing home a little less than half the entree. Altogether everything was pretty cheap but I wouldn't be afraid to grab a more expensive main the next time I go and I don't doubt that will happen soon.
