Goldener Adler - Treuchtlingen

This, from all the restaurants we visited in Germany, made us welcome. The regular table was filled with an older gentleman who knew everyone who went into the door and immediately made our acquaintance. The food was good. The atmosphere was cosily Franconian.

After a few difficulties with the restaurant non-speaking waitress I ordered some fish that was well and well prepared. Unfortunately, I could not enjoy the salad bar because of the presence of numerous flies in most vegetables. The table was... I ate far from being clean.

Always make a point of eating here when visiting Weissenburg. Not very attractive from outside but traditional German dining room and in good weather a garden at the rear. They serve good local Franken dishes at sensible prices plus the usual range of German main...courses.

Ate dinner here several times during our visit to Weissenburg. As always, the food was well cooked and top quality. Hard to pick a bad dish in the restaurant.
