Mel's Pizzeria - Trinity Beach

Stopped in here for dinner with our 3 kids. Great value family specials. There were a few veggie options, but not many. They mixed up one of our orders, but gave it complimentary...nice. Really friendly staff. They were really busy the night we were there. Aussie pizza was really good and nice pasta and garlic bread. We ate for less then $50, so good choice for families.

Floor to ceiling pine panelling and kitsch red and white chequered table cloths, got the mental picture?Food was ok, pizza a little undercooked, could have done with a little longer to firm up the base. Carbonara delicious but pasta over cooked. No air conditioning, no alcohol (BYO only) and no EFTPOS. Good takeaway or delivery option.

This place is amazing value. It is Italian with some Greek dishes. By day it is a cafe. By night a restaurant with cafe level prices. Portions are generous. You can get most Italian foods - pizzas, pastas, meat dishes here. Service is quick and efficient. only downside is it shuts at 8:30pm in the evening. You can get your wine or beer from the next door liquor shop. Has a nice atmosphere with checked cloth table cloths on the tables. Well cooked too.

The best pizza in Cairns, hands down ! Any other place is just serving you bread with cheese, so do your stomach a favour and eat well at Mel's. His authentic flavour is to die for, its the only place I ever get pizza from :)

We had the gnocchi with tomato sauce and the veggie supreme pizza. Both were very good and priced well (12.90 and 14.00 respectively). The best part is that they offer BYO and charge no corkage. There is a Liquorland market just next door so you could buy libations before entering the restaurant. Seems busy for takeaway for the locals but was not busy for dine in at 7pm on a Saturday. Nice, quaint little place to eat and the food was really good.
