I had quite disappointed, especially because I felt deceived by the many positive reviews... Anyway, there are 3...the things that are positive to this place: it is cheap, the manager is friendly and portions are big.... I'm afraid it is. The interior is bad, the menu is greasy and so are the appetizers. My main dish was served cold and the quality and freshness of the shrimps in the shell of my table companion were expressed softly, questionable. I guess all dishes are frozen and warmed up to serve, or roasted deep. I'm sorry, it's never again for me!
For dinner in the evening. At 21.00 the restaurant was relatively empty, but some people came to take away. Ordered the speciality of the house and was recommended to take something else, as the meat this day was not so good quality. I was totally impressed by this and ordered something else. Eating itself was really good, authentic and cost-effective, only service was a little slow. Will go back there...

We went to the Hoa Sen for dinner. The welcome was friendly, but they were a bit slow taking orders. For drinks I ordered a Bia Saigon (355ml for €3) but they also have local beers which are very reasonably priced. We ordered a mixed starter plate for two. The fresh spring rolls were ok, the fried spring rolls with rice paper and pork were really good. The prawn on sugar cane was missing the sugar cane on 2 of the 3 bits, which I found disappointing because I like to gnaw on the sugar cain. The Chinese style mini spring rolls were rather unnecessary (not tasty at all). For mains we ordered fried noodles with duck and a pho with beef. The duck was very good, crispy, not tough and the noodles tasted well with bits of mung bean sprouts and some vegetables. The pho had plenty of beef and other ingredients but tasted strong of cilantro.Prices are reasonable.Overall quality of the food was good though and we will be back.
I enjoy cooking asian food and buy my supplies at an Asian grocery store in Siegburg. They recommended Hoa Sen over 2 years ago. I have eaten here several times and the quality and service have remained consistently good. The food is fresh and tasty. One of my favorites are the self-rolled spring rolls. The meal is ordered for two and includes a platter of meat, fresh vegetables, dipping sauce, and rice paper. You can choose the ingredients and make your own spring roll. Definitely worth driving to Troisdorf to try it!
