Sugarpine Drive-in - Troutdale

I had the waffle grilled cheese paired with a cup of tomato soup for dipping, and it was fantastic. The vanilla-oat swirled with pumpkin spice chai, topped with a drizzle of spiced graham crackers, was divine. The pulled pork sliders were incredible as well! I can’t recommend this place enough—it's an absolute must-visit! What a wonderful October experience!

I highly recommend this ice cream shop! Their soft serve is amazing! The texture is perfect, the flavors are delightful, and the creativity is spot on. Plus, the location is ideal! We picked up some ice cream here before heading down to the river to enjoy some time in the water. I love this spot right by the water!

However, we did have one critique: we were surprised and disappointed to find that there were no compost or recycling bins available. Almost all of the food packaging seemed compostable, but when we inquired about composting, a staff member mentioned that everything just goes in the trash. There's no excuse for this in 2022. Please do better!

Order the grilled cheese. That's where it's at. I don't love grilled cheese but this was on another level. And the ice cream sundaes are amazing too. Well worth the stop if you can make. We happened to be there when it wasn't too busy, thankfully.Parking lot is shared with the park so it can be full. Some seating under tents.

I had the kalua pig plate. Kalua pig was good maybe can use more salt, rice was fancy and delicious, and Mac salad and pickled veggies were good as well. Walked away not feeling too stuffed or hungry. No line when I went on a Wednesday during lunch andorder came out quick. As far as vibes, if you ever find yourself missing the countryside in Hawai'i, this place will make youfeel right at home. Only thing missing would be some feral chickens and coconut trees. ????
