Casa Baeza - Truckee

I came here for a birthday dinner while visiting Truckee. The food was just okay - the rice and chicken were a bit dry. They accidentally served my daughter marsala with beef instead.

During a visit to the family cabin at Donner Lake, we decided to stop for a quick lunch at Casa Baeza. It was a great little spot, not too crowded on a Sunday.

The menu has all the things you want most. And one thing I think many would not expect. Every time I'm in Truckee, I'm sure I'm over here to eat. And I usually try to take a friend. The staff is really friendly and attentive. And the food is delicious. It is fucked along a side street, so can be difficult to find. But I promise it will be absolutely worth it!

The staff was great and our server was phenomenal. However, the food was dirty and it was quite rough to see that they wait the salsa on the chips on the table in the open that someone sits. The salsa tasted like the marinara sauce and was room temp. The only tasteful thing on my plate was the beans. The food came 5-10 minutes after the order. Would only recommend if you wish a quick bite.
