West Shore Cafe - Truckee

The food was excellent with great presentation. Great to see the west shore on a quiet day.

Great spot, nice staff, not enough shade the sun travels the same path every day.. wonder what they don't plan for it?

The brussel sprouts were inedible, one person’s order was forgotten, overall not a great experience.

Despite being short-staffed, our servers at the restaurant were amazing. The food, including an unusual but very good Burrata, a delicious Elk loin, and fantastic short rib, was excellent. The stunning views of the lake and mountains were the main draw for us, but we were pleasantly surprised by everything else. We will definitely be returning next time we are in town.

When making our reservation we requested that we would like to be seated on the pier. When we checked in, we were told that pier seating wasn 't available and the tables were already reserved. NOT SO! We insisted, as we were previously disappointed with this same reason. We sat on the dock and noted that several tables, during the entire time that we were there, were unoccupied. In fact, the entire venue was almost empty. Very few diners, and an almost empty parking lot. the food selection is not extensive, and offerings tend to be pricey. When Ranch Dressing was requested, we were told that they were all out of Ranch Dressing. Really?! That is pretty basic! The medium-please burger was raw inside. The setting is the best! It was delightful to dine over the water. for that reason, in spite of the disappointing and expensive food, we will probably return.
