We bought for several people, which meant that we almost tried everything... It was YUM YUM YUM YUM! Salisbury Steak, fish, roasted chicken, sweet potato casserole, CHEESE GRIT BACON TURNIP GREENS, black eye beans, Lima beans, carrot ray salad, Macn cheese and some other things I forgot. For dessert, lemon cake and banana pudding. Good luck! The only thing that wasn't my Fave was the pear salad two cans of pear halves with grated cheddar and a bunch of straight Mayo, but to each of his own, right? Five stars!
I'm not sure why his categorization under 'Seele', but his decent food at a current price in standard meat and x format. Wait staff is friendly and helpful, but not too intrusive. The food was okay, nothing's wrong with it, but not great. Except, possibly, the banana pudding, my daughter ate almost all her grandfather's bowl and asked more and more.
My sister and I went to Joel's restaurant and the food was great. I had fried chicken and it was tender and juicy. My sister said the Mac and the cheese were great. Sweet tea was delicious. Service was great. I'll go.
Server was exactly what you would expect in an old meat and 3. Felt, as if she had served people forever. Anyway, the roasted chicken was incredible, roasted with the chicken steak. The grilled chicken was a bit dry. BUT their pages, ewwwieeee the pages. Every single one was incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joel's is a fantastic lunch spot, for they are only open during lunch hours. The restaurant has a low-key country home vibe to it and everyone greets you with a smile when you walk in. I got a little confused as to how to order food upon my first visit because the server led me to a table, placed my silverware down, asked for my drink order, and left. I then sat down and waited for her to return. She dropped off my drink and walked away. At that point, I saw people walk up to the food counter. I couldn't help but laugh at myself, thinking about how awkward I had to look just sitting there. The ladies behind the counter were VERY generous with portions of the side items (the meats are already pre-measured). I ordered the veal cutlet, turnip greens, and fried okra. The greens were served in a side bowl and were piled so high, I had to eat a few bites before being able to stir in the pepper sauce. The okra was literally falling off my plate, so walking back to the table with that fully loaded plate was a balancing act in itself. Long story short, the food was delicious and the service was very quick. Our server also made sure our cups were never empty and checked on us with each refill to ensure everything was to our liking. I cannot wait to eat at Joel's again.
