I had an overwhelming amount of food and couldn't finish the large combo. The service was prompt, and the beans and rice were fresh, which is definitely a bonus! The tea was great as well. Although this place is small, the hospitality is immense. We left feeling full and happy!
My partner and I recently moved to the area, and we were skeptical about this local Mexican joint being that small, 'seasonal tourist town ' food often leaves much to be desired. We also haven 't heard many folks talk about Tony 's for some reason, so we overlooked it. After having lunch there yesterday, we are gonna have a hard time staying away! The place was slammed when we walked in around 1:30pm every table was sat with just 2 recently vacated. We knew it was gonna be good from this sign alone. We picked a slightly dirty table, but a lovely woman (I believe the granddaughter of the original owner) came over to clean it off promptly and bring us a cold glass of water. It was cramped but cozy and we knew it would be worth the squeeze at the tiniest table in the joint. We ordered the Mexican platter with an enchilada, tamale, and chilé relleno, as well as the carne asada taco plate on fresh corn tortillas. The enchilada was one of the best I 've ever had. I can 't really explain why it was so good, being that it 's a relatively basic food item most of the time, but I could 've easily eaten 30. I stole half the relleno off my partners plate as well it was definitely one of the best I 've had and we were delighted with every bite. We wished we ordered a pile of rellenos and enchiladas. The rice and beans could stand alone, that 's how flavorful and delicious they were. A bit on the salty side, but the rice is probably the best Mexican rice I 've ever had. I have no idea what they do to that rice, but it doesn 't taste like any Mexican rice I 've ever had before (in the absolute best way). I 'm writing this as I eat my leftovers and it 's somehow even better on day 2. I would eat it dry. The carne asada tacos were loaded with fresh pico de Gallo and guacamole all the fresh onions, cilantro, and lime a girl could ever dream of. The carne was light, juicy, and delicious. No gristle. Perfectly grilled and tender. It isn 't the best carne I 've *ever* eaten flavor wise, but the fixings on top and the handmade FRESH corn tortillas were enough to take it to the next level. I would order it again. The free chips and salsa were gone in 20 seconds between the two of us. Nice and spicy, not watery, and very flavorful without being too hot. One of my favorite restaurant salsas in a long time. We chatted with several friendly servers once things calmed down (in true T or C style). Our service was fabulous and quick, our food came out fast, hot, and fresh and was excellent and AFFORDABLE. Coming from Montana, this is a 10/10. My only complaint was that these guys need a bigger restaurant with more tables! If you are just passing through and looking for truly authentic new Mexican cuisine at an amazing price point with great service and turn around, do not overlook this spot like we did. It will not disappoint!
Absolutely fantastic food! Had a wonderful dine-in experience for lunch. The price per person was around $10–$20. I would rate the food a perfect 5, the service a solid 5, and the atmosphere also a 5! I highly recommend trying the Bacon Green Chili Cheeseburger along with the fries.
