I had the mushroom smothered fried chicken, collards, sweet potato soufflé, mac cheese, and a slice of sweet potato pie. It was $24.73. I don’t know how I feel about that but it was an experience. The chicken was good, it wasn’t really hot but it was cooked well. The gravy had more water in it than I’m used to. The collards were hot and tasted fresh. Not much seasoning but when they’re fresh, I don’t mind it as much. The sweet potato soufflé was what you would expect so it was good. The mac cheese wasn’t completely melted like other reviews said but it was ok. At least it wasn’t dry like the other reviews said. The tea was sweet and the sweet potato pie was good, not too sweet. I live on the other side of Atlanta so I wouldn’t make a trip over there for the food but if I was in the area, I probably would swing by to try some other things because it did look good. Oh, and the employees were super nice, especially Mr. Gary!
Oh my goodness I can't wait to go back and I just left ! The absolute best catfish I've eaten loved the batter on it. My sides were cabbage and squash casserole both were outstanding! So was the egg custard pie and even the deviled egg and Mexican cornbread were exceptional. Enjoyed the atmosphere everything socially distanced and the staff were masked and so kind and helpful! I have enough leftovers for dinner. Highly recommend!!
I was visiting from Arizona, and my daughter brought us here for some fresh Southern food and they did not disappoint!!! We need one of these in Arizona. Everything I tasted, which I tasted off everyone's plate was absolutely fresh and delicious!!! The Banana Pudding....I NEED that recipe!! I will definitely be back my next visit to Georgia. YUMMMY!!!
I've eaten Sunday dinner here every week in October. Portions equal two meals! At this rate I will be tired of Thanksgiving food before it even gets here!
I went to this restaurant for the first time earlier this week. The staff was very friendly upon arrival. The food looks amazing, and there was so many choices. The prices are somewhat high seeing I got a leg quarter that costs 5 bucks for a bag at the store. You get an entree, two sides, choice of bread and a drink. I got the mashed potatoes with fresh, Mac and cheese and sweet potato souffle. I also got deviled eggs, some kind of pie, and key lime cake. The deviled eggs look amazing, but we're dry and bland. The keylime cake was not good at all, I'm not sure what it tasted like, but it missed the mark. The mashed potatoes were bland and not fluffy. The Mac n cheese was bland and greasy. The sweet potato souffle was very good, but a little too sweet (i ordered a lot so some food is not pictured). Overall I was a little disappointed, but I do understand cafeteria style restaurants often don't season too much for dietary reasons. I would go back but would prob stick to veggies for the sides.
