Black Bear Diner - Tucson

I placed a to go order th hat included bread pudding. I get to the location to pick up my order and she tells me they ran out of bread pudding, supposedly 10 minutes before I arrived but considering I'd placed my order 30 minutes before arriving, I should have still been able to get my order. Then, I wanted a refund for it, not a substitution, and that supposedly could not be done for me without contacting uber eats. The only reason this order was placed was for the bread pudding. Everything else was just in addition to it and the corn bread and salad were the only good things that came out of my $40+ order. I won't be placing an order or visiting again and will make sure my friends and family don't either. A waste of time and money. They couldn't call to let me know before I drove across town. I would have canceled the order all together and saved myself the time and money. The ribs were small, tough, and tasteless. As you can see, the garlic parmesan bread was just white bread with a blob of cheese in the middle and had no taste or toast to it beyond the one side with the blob. The mashed potatoes and gravy were salty and nothing beyond mediocre. My grandmother took 2 bites of her soup and refused the rest.

Usually we have a pretty good experience here but today was not so good. It was a slower time , we got there at 2pm stayed till 315pm. Once we were seated, it took a while for our server to get our drink order, he was very polite and nice and corrected the issues we had on the food. There was food forgotten by the cooks on my order and had to send back the hash browns because I asked for them crispy but they were barely cooked. They forgot my eggs and corn muffin. I noticed there were tables not very clean, the floors were dirty in multiple areas and a lot of flies bothering us the entire time. When we went up to pay there was no one around for a while and my friend went to the back to hunt someone down I almost left because the place seemed vacant with employees. I really hope I don't experience this again if I come back.

Their servings are large and the food is good. I do wish they cooked their hashbrowns a little more. You can tell they use fresh potatoes, which is great, they just need a little pre-cook before they crisp them up. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available. I took my uncle to this restaurant for his birthday and we waited over an hour to receive our food. Additionally, our waitress forgot our order, had trouble with my request even though it was on the menu, and my boyfriend became ill from their Tri-Tip dish. To make matters worse, they only served us two tiny slices of Tri-Tip. They also brought me the wrong dish, but did offer to comp my meal without me asking. Although I appreciated the gesture, the fact that no one enjoyed their meals and some of us felt sick afterwards was disappointing. I had previously enjoyed dining at this restaurant, but this experience has made me reconsider returning in the future. Hopefully, this was just a one-time occurrence.
