I never thought Vegan food could be so delicious! We ate in Tasteful Kitchen because our family member is Vegan. I have dipped in vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Tucson and they were not bad, but this is not your run of the Vegan Mill food. Chefs here know what they do when it comes to aromas. It was excellent! I started with the crispy Brussel spits and crushed potatoes. Wow. We were pleasantly surprised. Everyone makes fried Brussels shoots and they are fat, but they weren't. But the taste was excellent! The Miso Aubergine was prepared with love and skill. Not everyone knows how to prepare the eggplants properly. This was by far one of the best aubergine dishes I had in a very long time. The eggplant was stacked and roasted like a steak. It was so soft and tasty and then you got this light crispy to the sea of the eggplants. On a coconut bean bed. But best was the delicious green curry sauce. I had no desert, but I'm sure it's wonderful. Family members were all satisfied. Crabby Patty tasted like crab and a funny turn on the name (if you are familiar with Sponge Bob, you will understand). You really should try. It's hidden and needs more exposure. I'm neither vegetarian nor vegan and I'll be back.
Tasteful kitchen has no bar, but you are welcome to BYOB and pay the cork fee. We didn't have BYOB and just had water, but the meal was amazing. The next day we ended with leftovers for most lunch. Top notch service and elegantly prepared foods.
This restaurant lives up to its name and consistently brings out the intrinsic flavors in even simple ingredients. The main recommendation is that the dishes they taste are excellent, which is a good quality when you are a restaurant. Although not regularly, we were back several times, and overall they seem even better during each visit. One of the best options for a vegetarian special occasion in Tucson.
Tasteful Kitchen serves gourmet food that also happens to be all vegetarian and largely vegan. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, down to knowing the ingredients in every dish. My husband is not vegan, but happily ate all of his food and commented on how tasty it all was. I would recommend that you go early, as they were already running out of some of their dishes shortly after we ordered at 6:30 p.m. I have had the miso eggplant on two different occasions and it was fantastic each time. We also tried the cauliflower bites, which were sweet and spicy, and delicious. We finished the meal with the vegan banana cake, which was delicious to vegans and non-vegans alike.
