Caruso’s Italian Kitchen - Tujunga

The service at this restaurant is extremely friendly and attentive. The food was okay, but there is definitely room for improvement. I ordered the lasagna, which was warm but not hot, and the cheese was difficult to cut through. I would consider giving this place another chance, as I was there very close to closing time, so it may have been an off experience.

If I had to rate this Italian restaurant, I would say they are in the top 10 for quality, taste, and value. The cozy home-style atmosphere adds to the overall experience. However, the bar falls short. Their choice of serving alcohol on the rocks is disappointing. In every other bar I've been to, drinks on the rocks are served in a rock glass filled with ice and then poured on top. Here, they use a tiny glass with minimal ice. It seems like they are barely pouring a shot into the glass. According to bartending standards, a single pour should be at least 2oz. A proper double pour should be double that. I suggest the bartender review their manual and start pouring real drinks.

This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to, and here's why: My son is autistic and not a very picky eater, more on the moderate side when it comes to food. Caruso is the only restaurant where he enjoys everything, especially the garlic bread and pasta, even the pizza with all its different toppings. Normally, my son likes to eat Little Caesars pepperoni, so I was surprised when he enjoyed the pizza here with me. I've been here 4 or 5 times since discovering it a year and a half ago, even though it's quite a distance from where I'm from. I make the trip whenever I have free time because I'm a big fan of their calzones. The service is great, from the moment you walk in to when the food is prepared. I've been to many restaurants where the customer service was lacking, but Caruso has consistently been on top of their game in that regard.

Rude and harmless service and eating is overrated. I had chicken parmesan and could taste the rancid oil that was used to cook the baked chicken breast. either the baked chicken was frozen and they tore it into a deep frit with old oil. The Mozzarella cheese on top was so baked that it turned into rubber. when I asked the server for the evil old oil aftertaste, she literally told me that this is the way she did her chicken parmesan and if I don't like it, I should go somewhere else, then she turned her back and went away. Of course I didn't/can not eat my escape and when I asked to remove it from the review, I had to go past him with the manager who had a similar attitude. they fit this place up, they obviously do not care about fresh, high-quality eating or do not place any significance on the customer service.

The best pizza in LA county and probably this side of New York! Rumor has it everything on the menu is delish, I'm so hooked on the pizza I haven't sampled other selections. The service is great, atmosphere is pleasant and parking is convenient! Caruso's is a local gem and a culinary treat!
