Healthy Japan - Tulare

Great sushi for not being a big fancy restaurant. Fresh, cooked fast. Prices aren't cheap but not too much. Cheap sushi usually gets you sick, Never been sick after eating here thus far.

Every time my family eats at this place, we have a good experience. However, this afternoon, when I was ordering sushi to pick up on my way home, I had the misfortune of speaking with an incompetent server. I told her over the phone that I didn't remember the names of the sushi rolls my daughters usually order and asked her to read them to me. She said there were a lot of options and suggested I visit their website instead. I explained that I was already on my way there. Reluctantly, she quickly read off some names, and I recognized one as the tsunami roll. Sensing her lack of interest in helping me, I decided to keep it simple and ordered 2 tsunami rolls. I specifically requested no green chili on top of the rolls. However, she seemed oblivious to my request, repeatedly mentioning "chiratsa" instead. Thinking she knew what she was talking about, I left it at that. Moments later, I remembered the Wisconsin roll and quickly called back to change one of the tsunami rolls to that. Upon arrival, I found 2 tsunami rolls and 1 Wisconsin roll waiting for me. I considered refusing the extra tsunami roll, but I was fed up with the confusion. Before leaving, I asked for tsunami sauce. The server seemed confused and insisted it was just soy sauce. Frustrated, I left the store. Upon reaching home, my daughters asked where the tsunami sauce was, only to find green chilies on top of the rolls. When I called the store, they were already closed. It felt like a disappointing Wednesday afternoon. I hope the friendly owner reads this and addresses the issue.

This restaurant is overpriced. The chicken in my teriyaki bowl was terrible, the vegetables were lukewarm, and the rice was undercooked. The sushi was sloppily assembled. The owner showed no concern and ignored my phone call.

Fresh and tasty eating, quick service, with great lunch specialties. not much more you can ask! this place should be in their top 5 as long as they like Japanese cuisine (like sushi and wine.) recommend this restaurant

Great food for great price and fast service! the personal is always friendly. the prices are reasonable. everything we tried was very tasty! they have a lot of rolling and benton boxes. they can get rolls that have fresh fish roasted to whole rolls. No matter what type of roll they like, they can find one that suits everyone! they also have Bento boxes with a very nice part! have not tried their pasta dishes, but would have to taste our one of these days!
