It's more than just a great restaurant, it's a fun place to shop, I always find a fun stuffed animal for my granddaughter and my daughter too! My granddaughter loves Yoda, I found the perfect baby Yoda in the cracker barrel!
Where should I start? I ordered the family south fried chicken bundle and showed up at the planned time. I was told 5 minutes after I arrived that they didn't have that chicken anymore, but had another guy. However, I disagreed, I would have changed my mind if I had known that I would be in the retail lobby for 30 minutes. When the food came, I tried my best to check it out. It wasn't what I paid online, but I had to take something home. What I didn't recognize:1. The chicken had large portions of bread that were cooked only on the outside. Cold sections of uncooked bread were peeled through everything. A piece was not even chicken, but only a large piece of bread.2. There were no cookies. I will not notice..3. The tea was regular tea and not the special tea I had paid for. I just want one thing if I sink more than $50 for an evening meal: get some similarity to what I paid. I hate to feel like I had been cheated more than anything else, and both the cracker barrel online order system and the store itself fell the ball in quality. I am disappointed by myself more than anything to not ask for a refund if they are not the real thing I have ordered. It is an expensive lesson, but at least I know better than to hope for more than this store is able.
I ordered the roast beef. I have a small slice and I get portion sizes have gone down and prices up, but if my slice is 3/4 fat and I hardly have meat.... I'm not going back. Photos of what my flesh was and what the fat was. And you'll see what I'm talking about. Basically, I paid for a whole meal and only got pages. And the pages I got... One was cold, and the other looked like they were scraping, leaving the pan. I'm not going back. I went home and ate again because I was still hungry and I am 122 pounds and hardly ever eat. So disappointed.
I went to breakfast and we got a lot right in and a table. We didn't get our food for 35 minutes. The server brought some cookies about 15 minutes to wait. I ordered the chicken and French toast that was moderate. I don't order that the chicken was good, but I wasn't a fan of the sourdough French toast. Our server was very polite and tried, but I think he was overwhelmed with many tables and hardly checked for us. He left food and never came back. We lacked a ash-brown and needed butter and syrup, but we couldn't find him to tell him. Overall was not too bad...
If you're looking for home cooking you Cracker Barrel is the place. They serve biscuits and cornbread with apple butter before your entree. Hot and fresh out of the oven. Yummy. Love the Oven baked broccoli chicken breast. It's so flaky crunchy good. Lots of veggies to choose from too. The desserts look wonderful but I never have enough room left to try one. Definitely worth visiting.Vegetarian options: Lots of fresh vegetables and salads.
