Food and coffee were pretty good but I was really disappointed at the total lack of warmth and friendliness from the staff, they all look angry to be there and couldn’t get a smile from anyone in the place. Also when I arrived I had to carry and move my own table since it was too close to a group while the waiter watched without offering any help.
To note: This business got shut down recently by the police (refer to their Instagram post). I’m not sure if they’re actually drug dealers or not, it’s none of my business personally. They’re currently operating out of the Italian restaurant one block down with the big red flag. Review: I ordered a mocha and it was very odd. There’s cinnamon mixed into the chocolate so it has a strong flavor. In addition, they add the espresso on top so there’s a separation of the chocolate from the espresso making it not mix well. It was pretty bad. When asking if they could remake it they said no. One bonus is that they had live music which is always refreshing. Maybe this business is good for other drinks/dining but my experience was subpar and I wouldn’t recommend.
My girlfriend and I stopped here to start a cenote tour day in the area. The space has a really cool vibe and ambience. The coffee was spectacular, and exactly what we needed before starting the day. I had the breakfast burrito for food, while my girlfriend got chilaquiles. Both were very good. Service was good as well- they were really busy while we were there and we didn't feel forgotten.
This place was recommended to me by two different friends from the US, so I had to go. It was worth it. The coffee (I got a cold mocha) was so amazing, I don't know what it is about their coffee, but it was delicious. The breakfast burrito was insanely good. Again, don't know what everything that went into it (felt like there was a cut up hot dog in it), but it was so good. Only minus...we sat in the back on the terrace, and at one point the hostess sat a guy next to us, who right away lit up a cigarette. I am a former smoker, so I get the need to smoke while drinking coffee, but there were plenty of empty tables, wish he was seated somewhere further away. Oh well. Recommend it, if you're in town.
