Kinnaree Thai - TUMUT

The Thai food here is genuinely excellent. I chose the chili basil duck, and it was fantastic, although the pad Thai also looked amazing.

You do need to order and pay at the counter before your meal, which is something to keep in mind. While being in a pub setting might seem unexpected, it’s not as surprising as you might think. The food quality, however, is not typical of a pub. I ordered the red duck curry, and my first bite was an absolute delight. The red curry had a rich flavor that is often lacking in many places that claim to be Thai restaurants. It had just the right amount of heat without being overpowering, and the sauce paired perfectly with the steamed rice. The menu can be a bit confusing at first since the meat options aren't listed with the dishes, but they're available on the last page. If you get the chance to visit this restaurant, I highly recommend it—you won't be disappointed with your meal.

What a cracker of a Thai restaurant! Amazingly authentic flavours at incredibly fair prices, with wonderful, friendly service. This place (found inside the Commercial Hotel) is an absolute asset to Tumut. A must-visit when you're in town!
