When he cleared the table he was leaning right across us although there was plenty of room.Order from the counter and drinks available only from the bar. No jasmine tea which was disappointing.
Every now and then (fairly frequently actually) we simply can't go passed trying Thai wherever we happen to be. Tom Yum Goong is our particular yardstick. Kinnaree's was a bit too elaborate with carrot, bean, red onion, tomato, broccoli, etc etc and a couple mushrooms and two prawns and not quite sour and hot for my taste. We missed that traditional tantalisingly fresh and simple Thai taste. Friendly service but unfortunately soup and main course came almost simultaneously. Pub atmosphere is fine and beer from the bar is cold and well-priced as is the bottled wine. It probably is a hard call doing Thai in a country town, trying to satisfy hungry country folk with a hearty soup and then getting stick from those that like it simple and genuinely Thai! We'll certainly give it another try.
Went with my husband, then went back for his 50th birthday the next day as it was that good. A hidden gem in tumut. Was not disappointed.
My wife, myself and another couple had dinner here while staying in Tumut. We found the food to be fairly mild on the heat scale but tasty enough and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and recommend Kinnaree for a good Thai feed. Only minus was the waiter wasn't very happy.
I had the crab curry, good portion and it was beautiful, great service. It was recommended by a local shop owner.
