Tatar hat is an experience! Traditional Austrian dishes with good pizza selection. Great live music now and then weekend.
I was here for a late dinner on a last Saturday night, the place was packed and we couldn't get a table for 6 am to 9 pm. The establishment is great, old school Austrian ski chalet/restaurant style. The restaurant winds and bends as every time you turn a corner, there are more seats, with beautiful small corners, so you can still hear what's going around you, but also conduct a private conversation. The menu was huge, by far the largest selection of menu items I have seen everywhere in Obertauern. Some of my friends ordered salads, I and another friend chose a pig, onion, bacon and potato peel. For a man, all agreed that the food was delicious and the portions extremely generous given the reasonable prices. We stayed after dinner to dance (and maybe drink) some of the meals, the dance floor was not as big or as popular as the nearby Latschn Alm, but it was still a fun way to finish our evening. Latschenalm is good for large groups, and is very close to the popular ski tents at the base of Obertauern, where many people close their skiing day.
