Mavis Winkle's Irish Pub - Twinsburg

I tried the Lachsburger based on a friend's recommendation. It was pretty good, but I don't think I'm really a fan of Lachsburgers. However, the fries and dill sauce in the picture were EXCELLENT, and I would definitely return to try a burger next time. The service was quick and incredibly friendly, although it was a bit pricier than I would have liked for the portion size.

I started my meal with a bowl of Guinness Onion Soup, which had a rich, deep flavor. The broth was excellent, packed with sweet onions, and the soft bread absorbed it beautifully. The cheese melted perfectly in the soup, adding a delicious touch, though I wish it had reached the edges of the bowl. I complemented my soup with unsweetened iced tea. For my main course, I ordered the corned beef and cabbage, served with baby carrots and garlic potatoes, along with a small stainless steel container of spicy brown mustard. The presentation of the entrée was both beautiful and appetizing. The plate featured a mound of garlic potatoes, a bed of bite-sized steamed cabbage topped with baby carrots, and a generous serving of delicately sliced corned beef, paired with the mustard. Each component was delicious and complemented the others. However, I found the potatoes to be a bit lacking in creaminess, and I personally prefer wedges of steamed cabbage rather than the small pieces. Despite this, the corned beef was fantastic, though I would have liked a more traditional presentation with the beef slices over a wedge of cabbage, alongside the carrots and potatoes. The staff were friendly and attentive, regularly checking in to ensure I was enjoying my meal and refilling my drink without needing to be asked. The pub played Irish folk music during lunch, and they have live bands several times a month. Both the pub and the men's restroom were clean, with adequate facilities. My next visit to Mavis Winkle's Irish Pub was in early May 2022, where I was served by Wendy, my waitress for the day. She had a fantastic personality—friendly, humorous, and always wearing a sincere smile that brought a warm atmosphere to my experience. I once again started with the Guinness onion soup, which I enjoyed just as much as before. For my main, I opted for the Twin Burger Mushroom Swiss Cheese Burger: two hand-formed patties topped generously with mushrooms and Swiss cheese, accompanied by lettuce, tomatoes, and raw onion. The sautéed mushrooms were plentiful with every bite, and the brioche bun perfectly complemented the burger. It was exceptionally delicious—truly one of the best burgers I’ve had! Instead of fries, I chose coleslaw for an additional cost. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed both lunches, and the food and service at Mavis Winkle's are truly unforgettable.

Here for dinner. Food was great and service was excellent. Katie was our waitress and brought everything we wanted. She was very friendly, fast with a smile and efficient. The owner, Ed. even came by to make sure everything was perfect. He was very friendly and easy to speak.. He was really interested in what we had to say. Would recommend Mavis Winkle's!

The service here was incredibly friendly and quick. I was really impressed with how promptly our server took our order and how quickly the food was delivered. It was lunchtime and they were moderately busy, but the staff handled everything exceptionally well. The menu offers classic pub-style food, and the soup was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the half soup and half sandwich option, and the sandwiches were generously sized.

My husband and I travel throughout Ireland and find that, stateside, Mavis’s Irish dishes are the closest in taste and quality to what we experienced throughout the Emerald Isle! The fish-n-chips are authentic, a traditional recipe, and the fish is haddock —the one-piece dinner is huge and more than enough for a hearty appetite! The coleslaw is homemade as are the fries! The quality of their Irish and American cuisine is EXCEPTIONAL and CONSISTENT, quantities are abundant! The menu and drink lists offer something for everyone and service is excellent, too! Mavis is our go-to for traditional fish-n-chips, boxty, etc. throughout Lent and all year!
