Fd's Grillhouse - Tyler

The food was absolutely amazing! It was fantastic! The cedar plank salmon was incredibly delicious! Yummy!

The experience was disappointing for the price. I ordered the FD's Trio, and while the shrimp looked nice, the asparagus was dry—I could grill better asparagus anytime. The kale salad was unlike any other kale I've tried. On the bright side, our waitress Susan was fantastic!

I just visited FD Grillhouse on August 25, 2024, with a group of 16, which resulted in a wait of about 30 to 35 minutes. Once we were seated, we were welcomed by an excellent server. However, the appetizers (triple dipper) were not as warm as I had hoped, and the chips were just average. Unfortunately, everyone who ordered shrimp ended up feeling ill, while those who chose steak also experienced sickness. Only the two people who ordered chicken had no issues, but the chicken was extremely dry!

I feel they changed the chef. I have been there all the time. Two weeks ago, everything tastes different in a bad way.

I’ll start by saying that my family has been coming to FD’s for at least the last 6 years. For the most part, most of their food is always on point. My personal favorite is the spinach dip pasta and the chicken and walnut salad truly to die for. We have, however, noticed a common trend with their tortilla chips. We often order the Triple dip appetizer (which the actual dips are also super delicious). The dips are served with tortilla chips which oftentimes are stale. It has happened numerous times throughout our visits in the last few years. The chips are truly our only complaint from this spot but it feels like a common theme at this point. In the past we would request the chip basket be switched out but they were typically replaced with a new basket that tasted similar. We had taken a break from ordering this appetizer (for the same reason) but visited today and decided to give it a shot, only to have the same fate we’ve had in the past. Other than that, this place has other delicious dishes and great service.
