Ruby's Mexican - Tyler

Been in search of a goooood Mexican restaurant since oct 2021 here in Tyler (I?m Latina and from Chicago where there?s an authentic Mexican restaurant on every corner) so it?s pretty hard to find a place that compares ???? but THIS PLACE ????????????so delicious! I ordered the Doblados (Birria carne asada tacos) with rice and beans and it was phenomenal. I was taken back bythe cost of the meal but once I tried the food I realized I didn?t mind the cost when the flavor is this so so good! I?ve beento lots of Mexican places out here in Tyler (Mexico Lindo, don juans (both locations) jalapeño tree, villa Montez and themontez) just to name a few and while some of those places has a decent carne asada plate, honestly nothing compares to this! TRYTHEM! Also note that it seems the place is run by teenagers but they have visited the table multiple times to see if we neededanything. great service and even better food!

Last week, we visited Tyler State Park and decided to sample some local cuisine, so we dined at Ruby's. The food was decent, though I realize now that I should have specified my dairy allergy when ordering, as I usually enjoy cheese in my tacos. The portion sizes were generous, and our meals arrived promptly.

The food here is excellent. We ordered the Number 1 and I just can't get enough! It's truly authentic Mexican cuisine, complemented by fantastic service. I recommend arriving early to secure the perfect table. And don’t skip the drinks – I absolutely loved the strawberry one. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and can't wait to come back!

On Sunday, I visited after 4 PM, so keep in mind they close at 5. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I enjoyed Lupe's plate and the Balderos; both were fantastic. I highly recommend trying the coconut Aqua Frescas. The food was served quickly, and everything was fresh and delicious.

The staff was friendly, and the Mexican food was authentic. I ordered the guisado de puerco verde, but unfortunately, there were a lot of bones and not much meat. Despite this, I will give it another try because I really love this dish, and I rarely find it in Tyler. I just wish it came with potatoes!
