Tyne Valley Tea and Company

Had lunch here today, August 18, 2016 The lemon pound cake alone is worth the drive to Tyne Valley.

Charming and warm, the Tyne Valley Tea and company was truly an unexpected stop while driving through the area. Warm in decor from the ceiling to the door finishes, this little place by the road tries to give you PEI in a teacup....friendly service, tasty morsels in a wonderfully quaint setting. The homemade lemonade is perfect on a sunny day, paired with the warm lemon glazed loaf is not to be missed. If sweet and tart is not for you we also tried the iced mocha with the rich chocolate bundt cake, both decadent and refreshing at the same time. To finished we had to try a tea. The grapefruit oolong served and strained add the finishing touches to a lovely afternoon.

We liked the look of the place on their website, however is was not up to expectations. My friend ordered the quiche which was undercooked and very small,the salad consisted of greens and 1 cherry tomato! The soup was delicious but lukewarm. The desserts were underwhelming. The pavlova meringue was chewy. The bread pudding was dry and needed more sauce. The tea was too weak even after steeping. The coffee was fine. The milk needed to be in a bigger jug. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. Some improvements and it would be a lovely place.

What a wonderful spot in a beautiful community. Went for lunch and to watch the local Oyster Festival Parade. Great selection of light meals, Teas and desserts. I had the Buddha Bowl salad and a soup which was all homemade and delicious. Did I mention dessert? Mmmmmm, a great selection of all homemade desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth. While you are waiting for your meal you can enjoy shopping for some of the local crafts and artwork that is on display for sale. I will be a repeat customer

We stopped here for lunch with the kids while touring PEI. What a wonderful little spot! The food was delicious from tea, to sandwiches to dessert. The service was excellent! Highly recommend it!
